William Roberts T/A Benjamin Warwick Dealers in fine gems since 1840 Bangkok |
|
Dealers in fine and unusual stones to the trade and collectors Benjamin Warwick founded his business in 1840 in London to trade natural pearls. Gradually the business changed and eventually was taken over by Ian Roberts in 1960. At the time Ian Roberts was running the Lapidary (cutting workshop) started by his father William David Roberts. The firm of Benjamin Warwick then developed connections in Asia from Burma to Hong Kong and began to import rubies and sapphires to the London market. Around 1966 Ian Roberts began to develop the rough emerald trade from South Africa, Rhodesia and Zambia, becoming one of the most important suppliers of rough to the Jaipur cutting centre in India. We specialize in the best and rarest coloured stones.
